(Please describe where you were and what you were doing when the earthquake hit Nepal on 25 April 2015?)
Its was Saturday, and I was washing clothes on the 6th floor.

(Please describe your immediate mental and physical reaction, and your response following the quake).
I was so scared my father was calling me to get outside. Though I was hearing his voice, I was unable to respond to him. Feeling helpless, I was just sitting, crying and praying.

(What were your most important concerns at that time?)
My life.

(What types of information were you looking for at that time? Did you have access to all the information you needed?)
I was only waiting for the information that would reassure me that it was safe and there would be no more aftershocks. No, we didn’t have any access, expect for the radio and newspapers.

(How helpful were news media such as radio, television, newspapers, online news portals, etc in informing you immediately after the quake and the days following it? Please note their strengths as well as weaknesses).
They were helpful to me overall as there were no other alternatives to reading newspapers and listening to the radio. But honestly, the more we heard the news the more it created terror. Despite that, the way media persons were attempting to disseminate information for the public made us realize once again that media are in fact the fourth organ of the nation.

(Please describe how you spent the week following the quake– what you did, etc.).
The days after the earthquake, I was compelled to stay under the tent, with nothing else to do or think.

(Any memorable facts or incidents during the week following the quake?)
Being hopeless– I could die any moment– had already started to erode the brighter prospects. In addition, I had to witness the tears of neighbors who lost their loved ones’ lives and homes.

(What are some of the lessons that we should take away from the 25 April 2015 quake in Nepal?)
Before you construct your house you should check the quality of soil, at least do check the raw materials and assign the job to authentic engineers.
